Parenting is a rewarding experience but we know being a parent of a teen can be tough. Here are some great resources we’ve found that will help you and your teenager survive the teen’s years!

family_strengtheningPOSITIVE PARENTING:

A series of FREE Parenting Education Classes is offered at the Campbell County Department of Social Services Building in Rustburg. Parents of children any age are encouraged to participate. That includes all parents: married, single, step, grand and custodial.

Topics of instruction will include: self-esteem, role modeling, communication, discipline techniques, sibling rivalry, stress management, and children in the middle. Classes offer a variety of lectures, discussions, videos and activities.

(434-332-9752) at Social Services. Please leave your name and telephone number. While priority is given to Campbell County residents, others may attend as space is available.  Class schedules vary, so call for information.

Focus on the Family

Focus on the Family has a great parenting site. The Parenting Community of the website is designed to provide a safe forum for Christian moms and dads to share experiences, offer advice and give encouragement to others. You can even request input from their licensed counselors.

Crosswalk-Christian Parenting

Crosswalk-Christian Parenting is a great website that offers information on parenting from a Christian perspective. Parents can get Christian parenting advice and Biblical principles for new parents and parents of teens. This site has a lot of articles that can give you a real life perspective on what parents have done and what will work for you and your children.
