Executive Director

Larry Compter (pictured above) is the Executive Director of Compass Marriage and Relationship Services, an independent nonprofit organization based in Lynchburg, Virginia that provides training and resources for building healthy marriages. He handles a wide range of relationship matters in an engaging and caring manner through presentations, workshops, high school and college classes, retreats, conferences, and guided discussions. He also does premarital preparation and personalized relationship coaching for individuals and couples of all ages. He is trained and certified in dozens of programs, including PREPARE/ENRICH, PREP, Love Thinks, WAIT Training, Within Our Reach, Smart Steps for Stepfamilies, and more.

Larry and Barbara have been married for over 30 years and live in Goode, Virginia, where they are members of Forest Community Church, a nondenominational Christian community church. Active musicians, they play on the praise team at church, and are also involved in a professional Celtic/traditional folk music group called Riddle On The Harp.
